Northern Mindanao / Misamis Occidental / Tangub City
Tangub city center and Panguil Bay route
Tangub is a component city of Misamis Occidental in Northern Mindanao, converted to city status in 2007. It is near Panguil Bay and the highway network linking western Misamis Occidental with the rest of the region. The 3.17-kilometer Panguil Bay Bridge is the longest in Mindanao. It opened in 2024 and reduced travel time to Tubod from two hours to seven minutes. This transformed Tangub from a ferry stop into a regional logistics hub. RoRo ferry services at Silanga Port are largely replaced by 24/7 bridge access; the illuminated bridge has become a popular spot for evening photography. Beyond the bridge, the city is known as the Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines, with markets and bayfront routines defining everyday life outside festival season.
